I spent lots of time in September chasing dinosaurs, let me explain … Geocaching Australia ran a dinosaur race as part of the Spring Caching Carnival. Everyone who wanted to play was invited to obtain a dinosaur, attach a logbook somehow, hide it and put a post on the website telling people were it was. Other people would then find it, move it somewhere else, then post on the page where they moved it to. There was a really smart part of the website which worked out how far they travelled; both each time they moved, and their total moves, plus how many times they moved. There was a ladder so you could see how well each dinosaur was doing. I had two dinosaurs in the race.
We also found plenty of other people's dinosaurs. These photos are from my dinosaur adventures in September.

Over summer I had great fun participating in the Geocaching Australia Summer Scavenger Series. Every week we were given a list of things we had to try and find. Sometimes they were geocaches or trigpoints, or things we just had to take photos of. You can read about the Summer Scavenger Series here. I had a new friend who came to visit, his name was Seeka. There were a lot of Seekas all around Australia, but this is my Seeka and me. When we found things, and we had to find all sorts of things - some of my favourite things were a named bridge; a police station; a waterfall; a time capsule; a BBQ in a park; a political leader (lucky I met Anna Bligh, the former premier of Qld during the week); a stained glass window; a water bubbler; and a lot of other things, Suzy would take photos - sometimes just of me, sometimes with me and Seeka. She would then put it on my Facebook page, and my Instagram page. People were really impressed and liked my photos. There was a competition to see who had the best photos, the photos of me didn't win but I got a prize anyway. Its a special shiny coin called a 'pathtag'. I was so excited to get it in the mail today. Here is a slideshow of some my favourite Summer Series photos. |
